Segment No. 064g -- Mt. 13:44

Title:  The Parable of the Treasure

Mt. 13:44   “Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys the field.”

You will notice that the man who finds the treasure and buries it, he does so in a field that does not belong to him.  He sells all that he has and buys the field.  This is a picture of the Son of Man and the price He pays for believers.  The devil at the present time holds title to the earth which was given to him by Adam and Eve. Yeshua, as the son of Man, comes into the world and finds great treasure.  He then gives all that He has on the cross to purchase the lives of His treasured believers.  He pays a terrible price for the field, this world, in order that He may rightly reap His treasure.  Two Scriptures show what God’s treasure is: “Now then, if you will obey Me faithfully and keep My covenant, you shall be My treasured possession among all the peoples. Indeed, all the earth is Mine.”  (Exodus 19:5).  “For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself, Israel, as His treasured possession.”  (Psalm 135:4).
